First major update!
Hi everyone!
I've been working on Inquisitive Dave for a few years in my spare time, and I feel like it's gotten to a point where I'm comfortable sharing its status!
At the moment I'm working towards having a completable, stripped down demo within the year. As you can see from this fun sized progress bar, I'd say I'm about 70% of the way there with a lot of the really fiddly and or awkward tasks already finished.
Stuff on the TODO list for this is:
- Finish first draft of the main game (~2 months)
- Work out which levels I need for the demo and polish them all up (~6 months, alongside the rest of the work)
- Fix up audio so that the soundtrack can update dynamically between areas
- Fix up loading so that new assets can preload in the background while moving between areas
- Accessibility check for the sound, controls and graphics, reworking things if needed
- Write the bits of soundtrack needed for the demo
Once that's all done I'd like to have a bunch of optional areas, alternate endings and branching paths for the full version of the game. I'd also like to incorporate user feedback based on the demo. Progress for this version is closer to about 50%:
If there's anything that you think you'd like to see, either in terms of updates/screenshots or in suggestions for the game itself please let me know!
